Merry Christmas from Dean and.....
I just wanted to take a minute and wish you a very
Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and also share what's
on my heart right now.
I know personally I have had Christmases in my life
that were not the happiest and in fact, some were
downright awful.
My parents split on Christmas when I was real young, I
experienced many Christmases with no money and presents
were not an option for us.
I even had a few years where I, plain and simple, got
depressed around this time of year. I also know that I
experienced a few where I didn't think I had anything
to be grateful for. Boy was I wrong!!
But one thing I always had and that was hope and a
vision that tomorrow or someday it would get better.
And guess what? - it did ;-)
The handful of "not so great" Christmases don't even
hold a candle or compare to the magical ones I have
experienced.
Well, I hope with all of me, that this year is magical
for you.
But if for some reason it's just not great this year;
Maybe money is tight, relationships strained or the
1,000 other things that could get us off track, I need
to say this.
I've been through the entire spectrum of up and down
holidays and here is what I know:
If in your heart of hearts you know that tomorrow, next
week, next year and even next Christmas can be better
than today, then you are on the track for many, many
joyous memories and holidays.
Don't ever think, no matter how hard things are or how
old you are that the best is behind you. Each of YOU
not only deserve it, but can achieve a bigger future
for you and your family. And I promise to continue to
do my part in helping you see the path and plan that
can take you there.
And one thing I know I will never ever do again, and
that is to never forget all the things we need to be
grateful for. Even in the toughest times, it got me
through to see better days.
I hope this email didn't come across as a "poor me"
email. It was meant to be the opposite and show that
everything in life, no matter how good or bad, happens
for a reason, building to the day that you realize why
it all happened and you can start using it for that
bigger, better future that you deserve.
So to my friends, my students and fellow DGers, HAPPY
HOLIDAYS from my family to yours.
Best,

P.S. It's Christmas Eve and I've been cooking all day
for friends and family. My Italian grandmother taught
me how to cook and I'm pretty darn good at it. I've
been making a variety of fish, sauce, homemade pasta
and all types of other great stuff. We even have Santa
stopping by here shortly to say hi to my 2 and 4 year
old children.
Believe me, I never thought when I was growing up that
I could have a life like this and you know what? When I
look back, one of the biggest ingredients that made it
happen was REAL ESTATE and never giving up. It's your
turn for the next level ;-)
